It’s a new year and I couldn’t be more excited for what this year has in store for Ruth Eileen Photography! I’ve already got some pretty amazing weddings booked for 2012 (one of which is my first destination wedding… woohoo!) and I’ve got a list of personal & professional goals that I’m excited to get started!
A year ago I made my first set of goals for my business. It was actually at my first photography workshop (Branches & Light) that I set these goals for myself. Although I kept these goals to myself (I don’t think I ever blogged these) all year long I’ve decided to share with you the short list that I created for REP.
2011 Goals
– rebrand – CHECK… I made a new logo and launched a new blog site
– buy lighting equipment – CHECK… I bought some basic lighting equipment & attended a Zach Arias’ lighting workshop
– get a desk – CHECK
– do a bridal fair in Boston – after much research I decided against doing a bridal fair. I figured my $$ would be better spent by advertising on a few of my favorite wedding blogs.
– exercise – I’ve totally failed with this one. π
– drink more water – I’ve definitely gotten better at drinking more water but this will probably always be on my goal list. I’m just not a good water drinker. π
– cook more meals at home – CHECK… since going full-time with photography last year I’ve had more time to spend on this.
– buy new computer – CHECK… I bought an iMac last January & also a MacBook Pro!
– book 12 weddings – CHECK… booked 15 weddings last year!
– styled shoot – CHECK… I did my own styled shoot in July and it was featured on Sparkle & Hay!
After I looked over my goals from last year I felt so anxious to start my list for 2012! I can’t believe I’ve achieved almost every one of the goals I set for myself! π God is SO good!
So to start off this year right here are my goals for 2012:
– start my mornings with breakfast & a quiet time
– memorize 2 scriptures each month for the whole year
– drink MORE water and LESS coffee
– workout on a consistent basis (at least 3 times a week)
– read 6 books in 12 months – open to book suggestions π
– book at least 18 weddings – with at least 2 of those being destination
– be published on at least 6 wedding blogs
– blog at least 3 times a week
– professionally rebrand my business – from head to toe!
– book more senior sessions – at least 5
– attend 2 photography workshops
January Goals:
– finish & blog weddings from 2011 (including 2nd shooting jobs)
– finish setting up ShootQ
– celebrate my 25th birthday with friends! π
– work out 3 times a week
– drink more water
– start my first book (suggestions anyone?!)
– go get my nails done with a friend
– shoot & blog my first weddings of 2012
– memorize 2 scriptures
I would love to hear the goals that you have set for yourself or business! Not a goal setter? I would encourage you to start NOW… it’s SO rewarding to look back and see all you have accomplished! No matter the size of the goal, big or small, it’s worth setting it and pushing yourself to achieve it!
