We’re Moving!

It’s true, Chris and I are moving to Boston, Mass. in August!  We could not be more excited for this adventure that God has called us on! 🙂
Because of this move some things will be changing here at Ruth Eileen Photography… those changes include:

– A new website/blog! For a while now I’ve been wanting to get my blog and website all in one place and I’ve finally done it! 🙂 I’m also loving the more simple & clean look of me new website/blog  I will hopefully be launching that in the next month or so.

– New pricing!  That includes my wedding collections, engagement & bridal sessions and all my lifestyle sessions. Those prices will be in affect when I launch the new website.

– Good news! I will still be accepting wedding clients here in NWA, Houston and Northern Indiana as well as any where else in the US or world! 🙂  I will only be taking a select few each year.

If you are interested in booking a session with me before I leave in August please email me asap, as my summer is getting pretty full! Also, if you are wanting to book me before my pricing changes please do so asap!  I’m hoping to have my new pricing up at the end of June.

So, why Boston you may ask?  Here is brief story on how & why God called us to Boston!

Well, for the past 5 years God has brought New England & Boston to Chris’ heart. It all started with a Podcast by Louie Giglio when they had their first ever Passion Conference in Boston.  Louie put a call out for Christians to pray about moving to the New England area and Boston in specific to just do life up there. As you know Passion Conferences are HUGE… they usually have in attendance thousands & thousands of college age students. This conference in Boston that they had in 2007 they only had in attendance 1,200 students. There are more than 50 colleges in Greater Boston alone. The need for Jesus is huge in that area. With colleges like MIT, Harvard and Berkley, you have very influential people coming out of this area of the United States.  Over the past few years now Chris has had multiple (random) people say to him, “Have you ever thought about taking your ministry to the New England area?”, “I think God could really use guys like you up in the Boston area.”.  By the fifth time this had happened, over the course of just a few years, Chris decided that is was time to let me in on it! 🙂 So last March we began to pray for Boston. We prayed for the city, the people and for what God was going to show us over the next couple of months. In September of last year I got booked for a wedding in New Jersey. Me being the genius I am ( 🙂 ) decided that we should make a vacation out of it and visit NYC & then head up to Boston.  So, that is exactly what we did!  This was both Chris and I’s first ever visit to Boston so we went in with an open mind and open heart to what God was going to do with our time in the city. We didn’t know anyone living in the city or even close. So we spent 2 and half days visiting college campuses, praying over these campuses, and praying for God to lead us. By the time those 2 days were up I told Chris in tears “We need to be here, we need to be in this city”.  Over those 2 days God had put a love for these people and this city in both mine and Chris’ heart. So we headed back to NWA with the decision that we would be quitting our jobs here and packing up to move to Boston. Not knowing specifics, like the time frame of our move or where we would work, but we just knew that we were answering the call on our lives to this city.  We knew that it probably wouldn’t be for another year (because of finances) but that through that time we would pray that God would open doors for this move whether it be finances, jobs or friends. Within just a few months we began to see God opening doors left and right… it was such a confirmation that we were doing exactly what God had called us to do.  Job opportunities have already presented themselves to us and Chris has been in contact with multiple college ministries! Chris and I both have a heart to see students come to know Jesus and to experience the grace of God. We want to live life with students, we want to disciple & teach them, we want to equip them for this journey called life.

We had the opportunity to go visit this past April because Chris got booked to play at First Baptist Sudbury for their youth & congregation. While there visiting we made SO many friends!!  I got the opportunity to meet up with a photographer in the area, Suzanna of Suzanna March Photography. She has been more than welcoming of me to the area and I can’t wait to 2nd shoot a couple of weddings with her this fall! 🙂 We also found a place to live… YAY!!  It was the second place that we looked at and I absolutely fell in LOVE!! It is such a blessing!  We plan on moving in the middle of August… we don’t have a specific date set yet but know it will be sometime between the 15th – 22nd.  I can’t wait to get there and begin our new life on the east coast! Although I’m not looking forward to starting all over again with my photography business… I trust God that he will bring me business. So if you have friends in the New England area be sure to send them my way! 🙂

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Here are a few pictures from our trip in April.
